The capital city
The capital of the Republic of Armenia is Yerevan, located on both banks of the Hrazdan River. Yerevan was founded by King Argishti I of the Kingdom of Van in the 8th century BC under the name of Erebuni. In addition to being the political and administrative center of Armenia, Yerevan is also its main economic and cultural center.

Public transport
Transportation in Yerevan is carried out by buses, trolleybuses, minibuses and metro. And inter-regional transport services are provided by minibuses and buses. There are no transport cards in Armenia yet. The price of public transport is 100 drams.

There are two airports in the Republic of Armenia: "Zvartnots" and "Shirak". Zvartnots Airport is located 13 km from the center of Yerevan. "Shirak" airport is in Shirak region, in the city of Gyumri, 120 km away from the city of Yerevan.
