Tavush region borders on two countries at the same time: Georgia and Azerbaijan. Tavush region occupies 2704 sq. Km. area: 51% of the total area is occupied by forests, which are distinguished by the diversity of flora and fauna, incomparable natural heritage monuments. The indescribable nature of the region due to the favorable climatic conditions has served the Armenian royal family as a resting hunting ground. This area is famous for its resorts, it is a great place for adventure lovers. One of the most famous and beautiful places in Tavush is Parz Lake, a beautiful cozy lake in the heart of the forest, which reflects the sky and colorful trees.
The regional center Ijevan (population of 20.6 thousand) is located 133 km away from Yerevan. The north-eastern part of the region is the administrative, industrial, educational and cultural center and transportation hub of the marz.
