Yerevan History Museum, Yerevan

Yerevan is the 12th capital of Armenia, and was founded in 782 BC and it was called Erebuni. You can find information on the history of our old and new city in the Yerevan History Museum, established in 1931. In the museum different cuneiform records and many other items proving the rich past of the city are kept.

“Megerian Carpet” Museum, Yerevan ​

Armenians are one of the oldest nations in the world. Carpet weaving has a centuries-old history. From ancient times, the carpets were a necessity in Armenians’ life. Over four generations of Megerians family have been involved in the restoration of old carpets and in the production of new ones. Over time, they developed a way of get natural dye for rugs and reproductions of old technology node, which created “the loom to create their own decorative rugs”.

Gum market, Yerevan

The displays of fresh and dried fruits at this covered market are pretty as a picture, so it’s fortunate that the stallholders don’t seem to mind tourists photographing their wares. In summer, the fresh fruit is magnificent, with peaches, cherries, apricots and berries of every description tempting shoppers.

St. Grigor Lusavoritch, Yerevan, Armenia

The St Grigor Lusavorich Cathedral is the symbol of the 1700th anniversary of the proclamation of Christianity as a state religion in Armenia as well as a tribute to St Gregory, the illuminator, who was responsible for introducing Christianity to Armenia. This church is one of the newest church in Armenia and was built in 2001.

Vernisage is the biggest flea market in Yerevan. It works all the year around. Here you can find souvenirs starting from Soviet times to the modern days; hand made crafts of all themes and colors. The prices are relatively cheaper than in the souvenir shops. If you happen to be in Yerevan on the weekends make sure you visit this place if you don’t buy anything at least you can take some great photos of this place.
