We have a trip, to Gori, which is located to the east part of Georgia, 96 km away from Tbilisi. On the way to Gori, we stop for coffee, water, or anything else you need. We go on the way and in several minutes we visit Jvari monastery, that overlooks to Mtskheta city from the top of the mountain. From Jvari, there is stunning view of old capital of Georgia, Mtsketa and the confluence of two river Mtkvari and Aragvi. The place is very important for Georgians, the history of our religion started from here. We see Jvari monastery, which is from 6th century. We take some pictures here and continue the way to Gori. Gori is the homeland of Stalin, so you have opportunity to have a trip in Stalin’s house, museum and train wagon, with the local guide. After that you could have a lunch in Gori city, there’re three options for lunch : 1) Georgian restaurant . 2) Local family with private wine caller and having lunch in that family, where you can taste Georgian red and white wine, Georgian traditional food. You get to know about Georgian traditions, winemaking and toasting traditions, also taking pictures with traditional Georgian dresses. 3) if you wouldn’t like to have dinner, we can go on the way to Uplistsikhe. Uplistsikhe , named “Fortress of the Lord” , is 10 km away from Gori. This is rock-hewn town, that dates back at the beginning of the first millennium BC. Built on a rocky left bank of Mtkvari river, Uplistsikhe has been identified one of the oldest urban settlements in Georgia. We have walking tour there, visit different caves that had some functions in the past, also we walk in secret tunnels. We take incredible photos here with the view of mountains and river Mtkvari too. Our last destination is Mtskheta. We visit one of the biggest and greatest cathedral of Georgia, Svetitskhoveli. You have chance here to taste Georgian sweet Churchkhela and buy some souvenirs. After this last stop, we come back to Tbilisi and drop you in front of Avlabari metro station.
