Passports & visas for visiting Armenia

passports-in-Armenia

If you are planning to come to Armenia, first of all, you need to check visa requirements. Citizens of some countries are exempt from the requirement to obtain a visa for entering the Republic of Armenia. You can see the full list of countries with which RA has visa-free regime here.
For other visitors there are four types of visas available:

  • Visitor visa
  • Official visa
  • Diplomatic visa
  • Transit visa

If you are visiting Armenia as a tourist, you need to apply for a visitor visa (single or multiple entries). This is a short visa with validity of one year. You can obtain a visa directly at the border, where you need to present a valid passport. On the border you can obtain either transit visa or visitor visa for 21/120 days, all the other types of visas (also with different durations) need to be obtained in advance. You can learn more about other visas here .
The cost of the visa depends on its type and duration. Learn more about all the fees here.
If you have additional questions, or you are facing some issues related to visa, you can contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the RA by sending them an email at visa@mfa.am or by calling +37460 620516 (if you are calling from local operator you need to dial 060 620516).
